NCAV is a pioneer non-governmental organization in Mongolia to address prevention of domestic violence and protection of its victims. It has a nation-wide operation with 5 shelters and 16 branches across the country providing a full set of psychological and legal counseling, shelters, child protection services and a 24-hour hot-line. We have became nationally recognized and known for successful advocacy for policy and legal reforms.

Our programs

Legal Reform Program

  • Provides legal counseling and assistance based on psychological support
  • Identifies discrepancies in concerned laws and regulations and advocates correcting the discrepancies and facilitating a legal reform
  • Provides methodological to specialists who are responsible by the law and to build their professional capacity

Child Protection Program

  • Introduces effective social working methodologies to work with abused children
  • Advocates a safe environment that ensures protection of children and prevention of violence and abuse in their families, at home and in other parts of the society

Information, training and promotion program

  • Pilots and introduces methodologies and guidelines for comprehensive services which center the victims of domestic violence
  • Advocates a social welfare system by supporting state and governmental policies and decisions

Temporary shelter house network program

  • Provides temporary housing for women and children whose life and health are threatened
  • Protects women’s and children’s safety and encourages them to survive the violence
  • Advocates the state and local governor to be responsible for providing a budget for temporary women’s shelter service

Supporting local community development

  • To influence for public mobilization and participation in social movement/campaign combating gender based violence
  • To encourage public participation for combating domestic violence through running educational and promotional activities
  • To develop public based non-mandatory training programs for perpetrators to  engage in exploring their attitudes and beliefs to move away from violent behavior

Capacity Building program

  • To create and strength the core fund for the institutional sustainable development through fundraising activity
  • To support the staff professional development for the sustainable human resource
  • To develop the institutional capacity and management for being a leading organization
